The Institute also offers several educational programmes.The ICN is an inter-disciplinary research institute, bringing together different disciplines with common interests in the human mind and brain, in both health and disease. The ICN has over 120 staff, including a vibrant body of postdoctoral and postgraduate (PhD) researchers, plus clinical fellows, organised into distinct research groups.About the roleThis role is being advertised as a 0.4 FTE secondment opportunity for internal UCL staff only. Funding is available for 1 year. Starting as soon as possible.The postholder will be part of the Institute’s professional services team with responsibility to provide administrative support for the Institute’s highly successful Master’s programmes, the Cognitive Neuroscience MSc and MRes. The postholder will also help with the administration of the Institute’s PhD programme.The position involves communicating with students and applicants and completing all administrative tasks required by the university in relation to these programmes. The position requires close and effective working with staff holding academic responsibility for the programmes, in particular the Programme Directors, Chair of the Board of Examiners, Module Convenors, and Examiners.The postholder is expected to liaise with other professional services staff in the ICN and UCL Division of Psychology and Language Sciences and will be based in Alexandra House on Queen Square in central London.This role will be a job share working with the current ICN Teaching / Research Degree Administrator who will be retaining 0.6 FTE of this role.About youThe successful candidate will be educated to at least first-degree level (BSc/BA) or have achieved the equivalent via work experience. Applicants will be able to demonstrate good organisation skills, with attention to detail and an ability to manage their own variable workload, and be able to use their excellent interpersonal skills to interact effectively and regularly with a wide range of staff and students. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, combined with excellent IT skills and a good working knowledge of the MS Office suite of applications, are also key requirements of the role.
