Teaching Stream Faculty Positions David R. Cheriton School of Computer Science

The David R. Cheriton School of Computer Science in the Faculty of Mathematics at the University of Waterloo invites applications for probationary positions at the rank of Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream: https://uwaterloo.ca/secretariat/policies-procedures-guidelines/policy-76. A PhD degree in computer science or a related field, awarded or anticipated, is required, as well as a strong potential for or experience in teaching.

Each position will normally have a teaching load of six one-term courses per year and service duties as determined by the Director of the School. Service duties are university and professional community service commensurate with faculty members in the School. Typical service duties include serving on School committees and participating in recruiting and outreach events. Faculty in the teaching stream often teach students in their first or second year. Salary will be commensurate with experience; the salary range is $90,000 to $120,000, and negotiations beyond this range will be considered for exceptionally qualified candidates. The expected start date for these positions is January 1, 2025, though the actual start date is flexible.

The David R. Cheriton School of Computer Science is the largest computer science school in Canada, with 115 faculty members.
