Trias Consult Ltd, provides specialised consultancy services in international development, resilience building and humanitarian response, to the public and private sectors and civil society. Trias Consult Ltd’s core services span all aspects of policy, strategy and programme development and management in contexts of crisis, climate change, resilience, and violent conflict. We have our headquarters in the United Kingdom, with key advisors based in Europe, Africa and the United States.

In the Horn of Africa, Trias has a strong track record in providing monitoring, analytical and design services for international institutions. Since 2016, we have engaged in Somalia, Kenya, Ethiopia, Sudan and the countries of the IGAD region in projects that have covered themes of recovery, resilience, and development; peace, security and stabilisation; and climate conflict and migration. We have strong local networks and a deep understanding of the contexts in which we engage.

Trias has on-going third-party monitoring assignments in the Horn of Africa region and is looking to expand this portfolio of work. These assignments have provided clients with ongoing insights on high-profile programme implementation, allowing adjustments to be made towards better outcomes. The need for this work is increasing in our focal geographies and as a result we are seeking qualified candidates to lead these types of assignments. Much of the work involves managing highly experienced teams remotely, with targeted field visits.

Tasks

  • Provide overall management of the TPM program, ensuring that it is executed to a high technical and operational standard and within operating budget.
  • Act as principal liaison with the client on technical programming, delegating communications and responsibilities appropriately within the team.
  • Working closely with researchers and considering the scope of the ToR and the needs of the client, provide strategic direction to the monitoring exercise.
  • Working with technical teams to ensure LoE and operational costs are appropriately allocated across the timeframe, monitored and reported.
  • Work closely with the team to enable rigorous data collection and analysis. Ensure that appropriate quality assurance is built into each stage of the research design.
  • Engage in internal quality assurance processes.
  • Lead the analysis, report writing, and presentation of findings to the client.
  • In close coordination with the Project Manager, raise challenges as they arise, and collaborate with the team to overcome these.

Qualifications

  • Educated to master’s level in international development, social sciences or related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading third-party monitoring assignments in fragile contexts. Experience in the Horn of Africa highly desirable, but not essential.
  • Experience in adaptable and responsive research design.
  • Experience managing large teams remotely, to deliver quantitative and qualitative research at national scale.
  • Experience working with a range a multi-lateral donor.
  • Would suit candidates with a responsive and flexible attitude.
