About Us:
Being a Team Leader leading regulatory teams is one of the most important roles at the EA
(Environment Agency). We regulate everything from what is discharged into our rivers, to
operators of waste management facilities, farms and other land management activities across a
range of urban and rural sites, all of which may impact on the local environment.
Whilst our officers deal with a wide range of environmental issues, you will lead a team with
the sole focus on either compliance of one of the nine water companies across the country or
the enforcement of water company activities in one of our four enforcement hubs.
Why Choose Us:
What will you do:
Such a broad scope of work calls for diverse, multi-skilled teams. Your role will be to lead a
team of regulators with a critical front line operational role, protecting the environment, helping create a cleaner, safer and healthier environment for people and wildlife.
You’ll manage, motivate and lead a team with responsibility for either compliance or
enforcement. You will lead experienced officers as well as those new to the business, to
address issues in the water industry, including those of reputationally and environmentally
high risk.
Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do. You will be required to have an
incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents or provide business
continuity support during an incident. This may attract an additional payment and full training
and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your incident role.
What do I need?
With a track-record of collaborative working at all levels of an organisation, you’ll bring
skills in leading, managing and developing others. You will need:
