As a TVET Intern, Africa you will join the Education Technical Assistance Facility (ETAF) team to conduct research, support product development, and facilitate knowledge transfer between regions. Your role involves analyzing TVET financing needs, assisting in product creation, and ensuring effective communication and collaboration with stakeholders. This is an unpaid internship based in London.

RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

  • Conduct desk research to create a comprehensive country analysis on TVET financing needs and available sources in a selected African country or region.

  • Assist the ETAF team in developing a TVET product with a selected financial institution in an African region and support the creation of associated tools.

  • Compile a set of learnings from Asian markets to replicate best practices in the African context, including identifying what to adopt and avoid.

  • Develop resources to support TVET products, such as decks, brochures, meeting content, and manuals.

  • Coordinate stakeholder meetings relating to TVET project to increase communication and support the overall project development. 

    QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be based in London .

  • Must be enrolled in a credited college graduate or undergraduate program.

  • Must be seeking a degree in a field relevant to international development, development economics/finance, gender studies, or similar disciplines.

  • Passionate about Opportunity’s mission. Able to promote and communicate the organization’s goals and objectives to external and internal stakeholders.

    CAPSTONE PROJECT

The capstone will be a compilation and analysis of learnings from implementing a TVET product in Africa, focusing on identifying key opportunities and the necessary steps for successful execution. This project will highlight what is needed for effective product development, what challenges to anticipate, and the best approaches for financial institutions aiming to expand TVET financing in the region. The final output will guide future implementations, offering actionable insights based on real-world experience.
