Temporary Appointment for Human Resources Associate (Curriculum Developer), GS-6, Global Shared Services Centre, Budapest, Hungary

The Global Learning Centre (GLC) was established as part of the GSSC to develop and deliver training for UNICEF staff globally.

How can you make a difference?

UNICEF GSSC is seeking an HR Associate (Curriculum Developer) to design and develop both online e-learning and face-to-face curriculum using a variety of development tools.

This is a Temporary Appointment (TA) for 364 days.

Key functions/accountabilities:

  1. Work with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to identify learning needs
  • Support the identification of learning needs within UNICEF as directed by GLC Governance committee
  • Collaborate with SMEs to understand the learning needs and to determine the best method for presenting learning opportunities
  1. Development of training programmes
  • Develop concept papers on programme needs
  • Design and develop learning initiatives including assessing costs, creating roadmaps, developing content and monitoring progress
  • Develop self-paced learning modules and visuals for live delivery modalities
  • Work with SMEs to prove and refine content as required
  • Share learning materials and programmes on Agora
  1. Use of latest methods and technology to develop innovative learning outputs
  • Support the HR Manager by carrying out background research on lessons learned for knowledge development and identification of best practices
  • Research and report on best and cutting-edge technologies for learning development
  • Develop expertise in the recommended tools for development

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • Completion of secondary education (i.e. high school diploma) is required, preferably supplemented by university courses in either Instructional Design, Adult Education, Human Resources, Public/Business Administration or any other relevant field
  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant professional experience in Curriculum Design and/or e-learning development is required. (A completed university degree from an accredited institution will be counted as 3 years experience and will be counted work experience requirements.)
  • Instructional Design experience is required
  • Knowledge of E-Learning management systems is desirable
  • Experience with e-learning development tools, such as Articulate, Vyond, etc. is desirable
  • Proven adult learning training facilitation expertise is desirable
  • Video editing experience is an asset
  • Fluency in English (verbal and written) is required.
  • Knowledge of an additional UN Language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish) is a strong asset.
  • Internal applicants from GSSC are required to complete the Learning Path corresponding to their current level before applying for another position. Remarks

General Service (GS) staff are locally recruited staff and therefore, candidates are personally responsible for any travel and accommodation arrangements. UNICEF does not facilitate MFA accreditation for locally recruited staff.

UNICEF appointments are subject to medical clearance. Issuance of a visa by the host country of the duty station, which will be facilitated by UNICEF, is required for IP positions.  Appointments are also subject to inoculation (vaccination) requirements, including against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid). Government employees that are considered for employment with UNICEF are normally required to resign from their government before taking up an assignment with UNICEF. UNICEF reserves the right to withdraw an offer of appointment, without compensation, if a visa or medical clearance is not obtained, or necessary inoculation requirements are not met, within a reasonable period for any reason.
