Job Title: Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in Indigenous and Francophone Social Work in the School of Social Work

Qualifications
-We invite all suitable applicants but preference will be given to candidates with a BSW or MSW background and must have a PhD in Social Work or cognate discipline.
-Applicants must be able to teach at the Bachelor of Social Work and Master of Social Work level.
-The applicant must demonstrate relevant teaching and social work practice experiences, and community engagement and be grounded in Anti-Oppressive and Anti-Racist practices.
-Demonstrated commitment to Anti-oppressive and Anti-racist teaching, research and practice.
-Must demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the Seven Grandfather Teachings when working with diverse Indigenous populations: Omushkegowuk, Anishinaabeg, Métis, Inuit, Black peoples, and Franco-Ontarians
-Teaching expertise in one or more of the following areas is preferred: social welfare, social work research, social work theory, human service organizations, helping practice skills with individuals, families and communities in the North, trauma-informed Indigenous practice, Indigenous social work, policy analysis, human behavior in the environment, addictions and mental health, and advanced field practicum.
-Preference will be given to those with a demonstrated commitment to undergraduate teaching and research that is focused on the vision and mission of the School of Social Work.
-Demonstrated relevant academic background, research portfolio and a record of teaching excellence.
-Experience with remote/online/hybrid/technologically-assisted instruction is desirable.
-Applicants for this position must possess qualifications to teach in the following curricular areas: Foundation Practice, Research Informed Practice, Assessment and Intervention, Theoretical Perspectives in Social Work, and Oppression. The ideal candidate should also be able to offer courses in specialized fields of practice, such as mental health, social work with Indigenous people, Asian, Black and other marginalized groups or any other relevant areas of expertise. It is preferred that the candidate has previous experience in social work.

-a research plan, research area (up to two single-spaced pages)
-3 sample publications
-Provide the names, contact information and relationships of three referees (one of whom should be the most recent immediate supervisor)
-Indigenization, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (I-EDI) Statement that demonstrates commitment to how I-EDI has been infused in teaching, learning, and research practices.
