Then the infrastructure is for you!We’re looking for an enthusiastic, experienced professional to assist the Hatch Assurance Team in, performing on-site inspections of signal testing duties, collaborating with third-party contractors and client representatives, and developing and reviewing Signal Test plans and procedures. As a key member of the Hatch Assurance team, you’ll have opportunities to apply your education and experience on multiple projects.Responsibilities

  • Provide site oversight / observe and report on signalling work being carried out by third party companies.
  • Develop signal test plans in accordance with contract documents and signal designs.
  • Potential to be involved with field signal testing and commissioning in coordination with the Tester-In-Charge.
  • Responsible to provide sign-off of observed signalling works in line with Client and project requirements.
  • Production of Reports and Handover Packages for the Client.
  • Working with design engineers, third-party contractors, and clients or their representatives, to facilitate testing and commissioning.
  • Working as part of a larger Assurance team in the delivery of railway projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related engineering discipline (e.g., electrical, mechanical);
  • P.Eng. designation or eligible to apply.
  • 3 -5 years of in field signals work experience, ideally in site inspection and testing and commissioning on North American mainline railways.
  • Experience in preparing, writing, and executing railway signal test documents (test sheets).
  • Familiarity with American Railway Engineering Maintenance Right-of-Way Association (AREMA) recommended practices.
  • Familiarity with AREMA C&S Standards and Transport Canada Grade Crossing standards and regulations.
  • Familiarity with GO Transit GIs and S&C SCPs.
  • Familiarity with signals design and signal systems and equipment used on North American railways is an asset.
  • Testing experience on legacy signal systems on North American railways is an asset.
  • Holds or able to hold Canadian Railway Operating Rules (CROR).
  • Willing to work shift patterns to include Nights/ Weekends and overtime as required.
