Detailed job description and main responsibilities
WHAT YOU’LL DO

You must be qualified with a Diploma level qualification or have extensive knowledge across a range of health or social care settings, particularly acute hospital setting.  Able to work independently but within the guidance and supervision of a registered practitioner, you will use your friendly, approachable manner to act as a point of contact alongside the transplant clinical nurse specialists for patients who are undergoing transplantation and cellular therapy.

You will be organising all their pre-transplant and cellular therapy tests, putting together timetables and informing patients and explaining to them what the tests involve. Alongside the Clinical Nurse Specialist you will provide some information about the transplant and cellular therapy journey particularly about practicalities, and help plan care.

You will help maintain data bases and contribute to audit work. You will have extensive experience of working with patients in the NHS or private sector, be able to demonstrate great organisational flair and an enthusiasm for solving problems. You will be interacting with patients from the time of referral, through transplant and in follow-up. You will be liaising with many departments and hospitals within the Wessex region.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

You will have excellent communication skills and a solution focused approach to work, preferably in a health care setting.

You will be self-motivated to develop, have decision making skills, able to work autonomously and within the Multi-disciplinary team.

The successful candidate must show commitment and attention to detail.
