An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Staff Nurse to join the targeted lung health check team.

Southampton is one of the 10 pilot centres in England to deliver targeted lung health check lung cancer screening to our local population. The primary aim of the screening programme is to reduce mortality from lung cancer. The TLHC nursing team provide lung health checks for participants in Southampton aged 55-74, who are or have been smokers, and where required will provide a low dose CT scan.

The TLHC nursing team cover telephone and face-to-face clinics which operate Mon – Fri 8.00am to 6.00pm.

The service is delivered from a mobile CT which is currently located at the RSH, along with some of our admin offices.

The service is expanding and there are plans to move the mobile CT into the community next year, into the Totton and Eastleigh areas.
