Working closely with a dedicated team of Teaching Assistants, you will provide essential support both on a one-to-one basis and within small group settings in the school’s specialist ALN department.Job Title: Teaching AssistantSector: Welsh SecondaryHours: Monday to Friday 8:30-15:30Pay: Minimum £12.90 per hourStart date: ASAPKey Responsibilities: * Individual Support: Assist pupils with their learning by providing tailored support based on their specific needs. This may involve helping with their academic work, social skills development, or emotional well-being.

• Group Facilitation: Work collaboratively with small groups of students, promoting engagement and interaction. Assist in the implementation of lesson plans and activities designed to enhance learning in a supportive environment.
• Building Relationships: Establish trust-based relationships with pupils to ensure they feel secure and valued. Your calm, patient, and empathetic nature will be crucial in helping students feel comfortable seeking assistance.
• Collaboration with Staff: Work closely with teachers and other members of the support team to share insights about individual pupil progress and challenges. This collaboration will ensure a holistic approach to each student’s education.
• Creating a Positive Learning Atmosphere: Contribute to a nurturing classroom environment where all pupils feel included and motivated to learn. Promote positive behaviour and assist in managing classroom dynamics.
• Record Keeping: Help track pupil progress and maintain records as required, ensuring that the information is used to adapt support strategies effectively.
• Professional Development: Take advantage of learning opportunities within the school to enhance your understanding of educational practices, particularly in relation to ALN.

Experience:Whilst experience working with children is desirable, it is not a requirement for a trainee teaching assistant as you will learn on the job!
