Trainer for Gardening and Flowering

Olive Branch Organization is an independent non-profit organization committed to fostering community development and economic empowerment. Its mission is to empower community members, enabling them to overcome challenges and creatively invest their resources,

The aim of this activity is to create sources of income for families affected by the earthquake so they can rebuild their lives, in addition to supporting the economy in Yayladağı which can’t afford too many families without income.

Currently we are planning to conduct 3 training packages for beneficiaries as follows:

TP1: Gardening and Flowering.

Training Main Objectives:

  • Gardening Techniques and Practices:
  1. To teach participants essential gardening skills, including soil preparation, planting, and maintenance.
  2. To provide knowledge on organic gardening practices and sustainable gardening methods.
  • Flowering Plant Care and Cultivation:
  1. To educate participants on the care and cultivation of various flowering plants.

  2. To provide practical guidance on watering, fertilizing, and pest control for flowering plants.

    Methodology

  • Creation of the methodology and training schedule.
  • Interactive teaching methods such as demonstrations, hands-on activities, and group discussions.
  • Pre and Post-test assessments.
  • Evaluation of the training sessions.
  • Follow-up and continuous supervision during training days.
  • Daily reporting.

Trainer deliverables

  • Design of training materials and plan, including methodologies and training agenda.
  • Training package, presentations, and related materials (tutorials/manuals/guidance).
  • Evaluation of participants’ work based on received evaluation forms.
  • Timelines and schedule arrangements for groups.
  • Successful facilitation of the training sessions.
  • Technical advice and support to participants.
  • Attendance sheets.
  • Final report on the implementation of the training, including photos and videos.

Duration and time frame

  • The training will be conducted starting from May 20th, 2024.
  • A total of 1 training package, each with multiple sessions.
  • The training will take place in Yayladağı, Hatay, Türkiye.
  • 2 Group per Training, Minimum 6 session per Group

Experience and Skill Requirements: Qualifications:

  • Minimum university degree in relevant fields such as horticulture, agriculture, or environmental science.
  • Extensive experience (at least 3 years) in gardening, landscaping, or horticultural practices.
  • Knowledge of organic gardening principles and sustainable gardening methods.
  • Demonstrated experience in capacity building.
  • High level of professionalism and ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in Arabic, Turkish, and English is desirable.
