Join our team today!Job DescriptionReporting directly to the Manager, Parking Services and Public Safety, the Training, Standards and Compliance Specialist will be accountable for maintaining quality assurance for the Public Safety portfolio.Accountabilities:

  • Ensuring guards, team leads and dispatchers are adequately trained and equipped to keep Osler safe
  • Ensuring best-practices and evidence-based knowledge is translated into the program
  • Meticulous record-keeping and documentation will be required; audit and compliance of the contractual deliverables
  • Ensuring familiarity with systems, processes and on-site training
  • Maintaining the policy and procedures manual and ensuring alignment with the third party provider’s SOPs or highlighting differentials in training
  • Developing and maintaining positive working relations with staff, contractors, tenants, local emergency services as well as other internal and external stakeholders
  • Preparing staff meeting agendas, training plans and minutes
  • Monitoring attendance issues
  • Conducting safety and security audits and providing recommendations
  • Participating in candidate interviews, evaluations and performance reviews
  • Participating in Osler staff engagement opportunities (e.g., huddles, security officer week, MOAB, EM week, etc.)
  • Debriefing with team post event
  • Preparing reports as requested/required
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • College diploma in security related field preferred
  • IAHSS Supervisor certificate preferred
  • Ontario Provincial Security Guard License required
  • Vulnerable sectors check required
  • At least three years in a progressive security role (in a health care setting preferred)
  • Intimate knowledge of security processes (in a health care environment preferred)
  • Expertise in report writing and reporting
  • Applied understanding of the Mental Health Act
  • Demonstrated knowledge of CPTED principles
  • Applied knowledge of legal authorities
  • Applied knowledge of the public-police interaction training aid (2023)
  • Familiarity of key performance indicators
  • Use of force certifications/training
  • Familiarity with access control and video management systems
  • Ability to travel to and between all Osler sites
