Transformative research on strategy and sustainability

The candidate is invited to develop transformative research with a focus on strategy and sustainability that challenges conventional disciplinary boundaries, to help solve real-world problems, contribute to addressing the evolving challenges of corporate sustainability, and produce positive outcomes by bridging business practice and cross disciplines to support business organisations. We especially welcome applications that will develop an interdisciplinary approach to addressing real-world challenges and corporate sustainability. The PhD project is open to candidate who wish to pursue a PhD in the area of strategy and sustainability with an interdisciplinary approach. The student will be supervised by Professor Ki-Hoon Lee who is the Professor of Sustainability in Business. 

Academic Qualifications:

A first degree (at least a 2.1) ideally in business/management/accounting with a good fundamental knowledge of strategy and sustainability.

 

English Language Requirement:

IELTS score must be at least 6.5 (with no less than 6.0 in each of the four components), Ither equivalent qualifications will be accepted. Full details of the University’s policy are available online.

Essential Attributes:

·       Experience of fundamental quantitative or qualitative data analysis

·       Competent in corporate and business engagement

·       Knowledge of environmental sustainability and circular economy

·       Good written and oral communication skills

·       Strong motivation, with evidence of independent research skills relevant to the project

·       Good time management

Desirable Attributes:

Strong quantitative analysis skills (e.g panel data analysis, econometric analysis); business research and/or industry analysis experiences on sustainability issues.
