Position: Travel TrainerSalary: £26,731 – £31,476 per annum (pro rated for term time)Contract: PermanentLocation: SheffieldHours: 37 hours per week x 38 weeks per yearThe Sheffield College is a further and higher education institution dedicated to providing academic, vocational, and professional qualifications to approximately 13,000 young people and adults annually. Are you a confident person who is experienced with public transport and dealing with the public? The travel trainer role is an exciting opportunity to work with students in the college specialist provision to equip them with the skills to access public transport.Key Responsibilities

  • Promote independence, choice and control providing personal assessment, training and support planning to young people with learning difficulties and/or disabilities
  • To identify and increase the potential for greater educational attainment and employment opportunities
  • To prepare and develop individual travel plans for children and young people appropriate to their induvial needs
  • To programme training and instructional sessions for children and young people and to deliver them, creating a positive learning environment in a range of occasionally challenging circumstances
