We are looking for an enthusiastic colleague to join our dynamic service within Barts Health NHS Trust. This will provide experience in adult and paediatric major trauma care, as well as a full breadth of elective services.Main duties of the jobThe successful applicant will contribute to the Trauma & Orthopaedics combined rota at The Royal London and Newham University Hospital including the Barts Health Orthopaedic Centre (BHOC). This will provide experience in adult and paediatric major trauma care, as well as a full breadth of elective services.Applicants should possess full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) in the United Kingdom.Your role will be supported by a large team of fellows and consultants. There are numerous opportunities to get involved with teaching and research as well as completion of quality improvement projects and audit. Qualifications
Essential

  • MBBS or equivalent
  • Full GMC registration with a License to Practice
  • MRCS

Desirable

  • ATLS
  • BSS
  • CCrisp

Experience
Essential

  • Previous Orthopaedic experience in both elective and trauma services in the NHS

Desirable

  • Previous registrar level experience in trauma and orthopaedics

Management Skills
Essential

  • Evidence of effective leadership e.g. quality improvement projects, service improvement

Desirable

  • Management training course
  • Knowledge of NHS finances / budgets

Teaching & Training
Essential

  • Enthusiasm, and ability to teach and train
  • Effective teaching and presentation skills

Desirable

  • Formal teaching qualification r.g PgCert / Train the Trainers

Research
Essential

  • Engagement in research Peer Reviewed Publication

Desirable

  • Higher degree (MSc, MD, PhD)
