The Opportunity:
We are seeking a creative and user-centered UI/UX & Graphics Designer to shape the visual identity and user experience of the Yasmine platform. In this critical Phase 1 role, you will be responsible for designing engaging and intuitive interfaces that make learning Arabic enjoyable and effective for students of all ages. You’ll work closely with the Product Owner, Project Manager & Tech Lead, and Developers in an agile/scrum environment to create a visually appealing and user-friendly online learning platform.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the UI/UX design process for the Yasmine platform, ensuring a user-centered approach and a focus on creating an engaging and effective learning experience.
- Develop wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and user flows to communicate design ideas and iterate based on feedback.
- Design visually appealing and intuitive user interfaces for web and potentially mobile platforms.
- Create the visual brand identity and graphics for Yasmine, including logos, icons, illustrations, and marketing materials, maintaining a consistent and attractive aesthetic.
- Conduct user research, usability testing, and gather user feedback to inform design decisions and continuously improve the user experience.
- Develop and maintain UI style guides and design systems to ensure consistency and efficiency in development.
- Collaborate closely with the Product Owner, Project Manager & Tech Lead, and Developers to ensure design feasibility and alignment with technical constraints and product goals.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest UI/UX design trends, best practices, and accessibility standards, particularly in the EdTech and online learning space.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience (3+ years preferred) as a UI/UX Designer with a strong portfolio showcasing your design skills, particularly in web and potentially mobile applications. Please provide a link to your online portfolio.
- Holder of a degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering or any related degree
- Solid understanding of user-centered design principles and UX methodologies.
- Proficiency in UI/UX design on Figma.
- Strong visual design skills and a keen eye for aesthetics, typography, and color palettes.
- Experience creating wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and user flows.
- Understanding of responsive design principles and accessibility guidelines.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively in an Agile/Scrum environment.
Bonus Points:
- Experience designing for EdTech platforms or online learning environments.
- Experience with motion graphics or animation.
- Understanding of basic HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for design handoff and collaboration with developers.
