THE ROLE
This role will lead on the strategic development of the UK Ireland Sourced and Grown (UKISG)
procurement standard for the Trust, to ensure it underpins the biosecurity of all the trees we
fund and source. This will include leading a review and developing and implementing a strategy
for the scheme’s future evolution to support growing the external demand and supply for UK and
Ireland -sourced and grown trees.
Reporting into the Head of Tree Supply, the role will require working in partnership with UKISG
assured nurseries and the wider tree nursery and tree planting sector. The role will facilitate
close working between the tree supply and conservation policy teams to ensure a unified
approach to growing demand for and increasing supply of a diverse range of UK and Ireland
sourced and grown trees.
THE CANDIDATE
You’ll have experience of project development, management and review. You’ll have an
understanding of biosecurity and plant health issues relating to tree supply ideally with an
understanding of UKISG Assurance and Plant Healthy. You’ll be able to develop and manage
effective partnerships that deliver significant outcomes for the organisation.
You’ll have excellent partnership building skills who has the ability to nurture effective
relationships with key internal and external stakeholders in order to deliver on multiple
projects.
