Successful implementation of Youth Engagement project in the Middle East and North African Region. Expected Outputs and Deliverables: 1. Edit a Youth in Politics Measurement Tool (YiPT) – to be Piloted in the MENA Region. 2. Edit case study on advancing the Five-Year Strategy on Youth-Inclusive Peace Processes (YiPP) in MENA. 3. Edit study on Youth2030 and its priority area on ‘Youth, Peace, and Security’ in MENA. 4. Edit consultations and workshop reports and communications products including social media assets.

Duties and Responsibilities
A. Background: On 8 September 2022, the General Assembly unanimously adopted resolution 76/306 to establish a UN Youth Office as a dedicated entity for youth affairs within the Secretariat. Among its responsibilities, the UN Youth Office is mandated to fostering meaningful youth engagement in policymaking and decision-making processes at different levels, including at the UN. As part of the UN Youth Office work, various products will be launched in 2025 across the work of its UN System-Wide Coordination and Accountability (UNSCA) and Partnership, Advocacy and Communications (PAC) Sections. B. Scope of Work The editor will be responsible for copy-editing and proofreading of various products launching in 2025, including: 1. Youth in Politics Measurement Tool (YiPT) – to be Piloted in the MENA Region 2. Case study on advancing the Five-Year Strategy on Youth-Inclusive Peace Processes (YiPP) in MENA 3. Study on Youth2030 and its priority area on ‘Youth, Peace, and Security’ in MENA 4. Consultations/workshop reports and communications products including social media assets.
Qualifications/special skills
Advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in Literature, Journalism, Humanities, Foreign Languages, International Relations, Arts, or any other related field. A first-level university degree with a combination of two years professional experience and academic qualifications may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. Seven (7) years of demonstrated experience in proofreading and editing is required. Experience in editorial standards is desirable.
Languages
Fluency in written and spoken English is required and proficiency in Arabic is desirable.
