Duties and Responsibilities
The project manager will be responsible for managing and implementing the project, ensuring that it is delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Key Responsibilities: A- Project planning and coordination 1 – Manage the project to meet the project objectives within budget and within the allotted time frame. 2 – Contribute to the development and implementation of the GIZ health project in collaboration with the rest of the health team. B- Monitoring and evaluation of project progress 3 – Continuously monitor and supervise GIZ health project activities, evaluating progress through outputs and impact. 4 – Provide input into the integration of beneficiary participation and accountability. C- Stakeholder engagement and communication 5 – Ensure accurate and timely reporting of the GIZ project’s activities according to applicable timeframes and formats. D – Budgeting and financial management 6 – Manage budget and ensure that all expenses are according to budget and meet UNRWA and donor standards concerning financial management, including accountability and good governance. Ensure proper financial procedures are followed. Track expenses against project budgets. Prepare cash forecasts for the GIZ project. E – Risk management and mitigation× 7 – Review and update the risk register regularly to ensure that all risks are up-to-date and that mitigation strategies are effective. 8 – Report on risks and mitigation strategies to the project team and stakeholders as required.
Qualifications/special skills
Bachelor’s degree in public health, health administration, health science or other related fields Competencies: • Following Instructions and Procedures • Relating and Networking • Applying Technical Expertise • Planning and Organizing • Work with Pressure and Setbacks A minimum of 5 years of experience managing projects/programmes and working on public health, primary health care, health promotion. – Experience in writing reports and managing budgets alongside managing multiple stakeholders in a complex environment is essential. Experience of working with refugees’ communities is preferable.
Languages
Excellent command of spoken and written English and Arabic.
