Overview of position

Under the overall supervision of the Head of Satellite Office (HoSO) in Zamboanga & direct supervision of the HSS National Migration Health Officer in Zamboanga & in close collaboration with the Project Assistant (Field Coordination & Liaison) in Cotabato, the successful candidate is responsible & accountable for ensuring the fulfillment of quality implementation of our clients health programming operations, particularly support in the coordination & administration of health components under the BARMM resilience activity in province & cities in Tawi Tawi.

Role objectives

  • Assist in planning, implementing & monitoring health programs & initiatives tailored to the needs of local population in Tawi Tawi.

  • Assist the preparation & support in coordination of health related activities in alignment with the agreed purpose, scope & workplan, as guided by the HSS National Health Officer.

  • Support in ensuring proper & regular communication & collaboration with stakeholders such as health & non health government partners, local civil society organizations, community leaders, youth & private sectors in Tawi Tawi.

  • Manage data collection records & support in drafting monthly status reports, correspondence, briefing notes, presentations & other forms of documentation related to the health programming.

  • Perform various administrative & clerical tasks such as preparing the necessary activity logistic arrangements & requests such as documents, materials & resources for the smooth execution of activities & office functions in the province, as guided by the HSS National Health Officer & Field Coordination Assistant Lead.

  • Support community engagement processes such as monitoring, consultations, focus groups discussions, information campaigns, surveys, mapping, trainings & activities, with guidance from National Health Officers.

  • Respond to general information requests & inquiries & ensure adherence to our cleints protocols such as visibility, data protection & PSEA.

  • Undertake duty travels in support of the program.

  • Perform such other duties as may be assigned.

Project reporting

This role will work under the overall supervision of the Head of Satellite Office (HoSO) in Zamboanga & direct supervision of the HSS National Migration Health Officer in Zamboanga & in close collaboration with the Project Assistant (Field Coordination & Liaison) in Cotabato.

Key competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, social science, education, management, community development, health administration or a related field with one year of relevant professional experience or high school degree with three years of relevant professional experience.

  • Experience in administrative & clerical management related to public health activities.

  • Experience in the public health & / or health sciences sectors is an advantage.

  • Experience in humanitarian or development operations & / or government social or health services.

  • Experience in liaising with government counterparts, including those in Tawi Tawi local government offices.

  • Excellent communication & writing skills with strong computer literacy, especially advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

  • Strong familiarity with the context of BARMM & surrounding areas, knowledge of the issues & programs related to public health at the national & local (Tawi Tawi, BARMM) level is highly desirable.

  • For this position, fluency in English & Filipino is required (oral & written).
