Overview of position

The Database Quality Assurance Officer (DQA Officer) plays a critical role in ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and reliability of the organization’s database systems. This document outlines the responsibilities, qualifications, reporting structure, and performance metrics for the DQA Officer.

Role objectives

Key Responsibilities

Data Quality Assurance 

– Develop and implement data quality management plans, including data
validation, data cleaning, and data transformation procedures.

– Establish and enforce data quality standards and guidelines.

– Conduct regular audits of database systems to identify and rectify data quality
issues.

– Collaborate with database administrators, developers, and other
stakeholders to resolve data quality issues.

Compliance and Standards

– Ensure compliance with relevant data protection regulations and internal
data governance policies.

– Stay updated with company best practices and emerging trends in data
quality assurance.

– Implement data governance frameworks and support data stewardship
initiatives.

 Continuous Improvement

– Identify opportunities for process improvements in data quality
management.

– Implement automated data quality checks and validation processes.

– Collaborate with IT and business units to continuously enhance data
quality processes and tools.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

– Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Data
Management, or a related field.

– Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in data quality assurance, data
management, or a related role.

Languages

– Fluency in Dari or Pashto with knowledge of the other language. Excellent written and spoken English.

Project reporting

The Database Quality
Assurance Officer reports to Regional Director and Regional manager.

– Proficiency in data quality tools and software (e.g., Talend,
Informatica, Data Flux).

– Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

– Knowledge of data protection regulations and standards.

– Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Team management

Monitoring and Reporting

– Monitor database performance and data quality metrics, generating regular reports for management.

– Develop and maintain dashboards to provide real-time data quality insights.

– Report on data quality issues, root cause analysis, and corrective actions taken.

Training and Support

– Provide training and support to staff on data quality best practices and
tools.

– Develop documentation and user guides for data quality processes and
tools.

– Assist in the development of data quality awareness programs within the company.
