Overview of position

To help our client in Nigeria make informed decisions for monitoring of immunization, polio, Non-polio SIA and PHC system strengthening programme by analyzing available datasets and providing insights and recommendations based on that analysis. They will also assist with data visualization and reporting, which helps the organization to better understand and use the insights generated from the data, the expansion and strengthening of digitization of health & immunization information system.

Role objectives

Following the guidance from therespective State Health Specialists/managers the team will be responsible for:

1. To be the M&E focal lead the evidence generation in Health in states assigned
2. To contribute to HIS strengthening on data use and data quality at subnation level
3. Respond to data analytical request and production of periodic data analysis (Conduct in-depth analysis of state data and share feedback with state, LGA and ward supervisors)
4. Technically contribute to key client’s lead Digital health interventions like DHIS data use apps, Open LMIS, Thrive 360, EMID RI
5. Develop and manage the line list of health facilities supported by the client and ensure the conduct of planned RI sessions in the facilities
6. Collect, compile, quality assure and submit RI/polio data from VCM catchment areas on timely manner. Compile, quality assure and submit VCM-net line-lists by 20th of each month for payment processing. Support and monitor VCM to CHIPS transition
7. Support the VSLs to monitor vaccine stock out in all client supported HFs.
8. Work closely with the state team, SEMCHIC and SERICC to ensure timely submissions of RI and RISS data
9. Implement quantitative and qualitative rapid assessment pre and post campaign particularly on social and behaviours factors in OBRs and SIAs
10. Ensure the client’ tools and platform are configured, tested and up-and-running in the state
11. Organize capacity development trainings on data management for health workers in client supported facilities as well as LGAF and VWS. 

Deliverables:

1. Focal point for evidence generation, Monitoring & Evaluation and HIS strengthening for the health section
in the assigned field offices.

2. Play a lead role in the scale up of digital health intervention in the assigned field offices

3. Support SIA campaigns- both polio and Non-polio SIAs in the field office. Analysis of post-campaign data
for decision making (IM, LQAS, Tally sheet, Redo/NC data)

4. Technically support coordinating bodies like SEOC, SEMCHIC and SERICC in data analysis and
visualization (granular analysis of DHIS2 data to identify low-performing LGAs/Wards/HFs)

5. Technically support RCDG working group in the field office in data collection, analysis, and reporting.

6. Submit a monthly report and any other deliverable requested by the field offices and the country office. 

Project reporting

Will be reporting to the national level and the respective State Health Specialists/managers .

Key competencies

  • An advanced university degree in one of the following fields is
    required: Social Science, Demography, Computer sciences,
    Geographic Information Systems, Statistics, Epidemiology,
    Health Education, or a relevant field.

  • Fluency in English (minimal). Knowledge of any of the three major Nigerian languages is an added advantage

  • Eight years of relevant professional work experience. Developing country work experience (for IP) or field work experience (for NO).

  • Background/familiarity with data analytics and complex information management.

  • Experience in complex and large-scale data management

  • Familiarity with different data analytics and visualization and practical experience in development of real monitoring dashboards using BI applications and other mobile application platforms like ODK.

  • Excellent communication & presentation skills (written & verbal) across multiple audiences with the ability to influence others while working in a multicultural, multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity.

  • High motivation, and dedication to deliver results within strict timeframes.

  • Experience in overseeing large, decentralized teams and contractors
