The Vice-President, Academic + Provost plays a key role as a leader of excellence in trans-disciplinary, inclusive and socially engaged art and design education and research. This critical role supports Emily Carr University’s commitments to sustainability, diversity, decolonization and Indigenization, and ensures continued vitality and excellence in academic programming and research. The Vice-President, Academic + Provost is pivotal in guiding the University through its strategic plan and vision of enhancing its world-class status.

Reporting to the President, the successful candidate will provide progressive leadership and management to all academic areas, including the Ian Gillespie Faculty of Design and Dynamic Media, the Audain Faculty of Art, the Faculty of Culture and Community, and the Jake Kerr Faculty of Graduate Studies, as well as Continuing Studies and the University library. They will also work with Student Services, ensuring excellence at all levels of operation. The Vice-President, Academic + Provost leads academic strategic planning, policy development, curriculum delivery and regular curriculum review initiatives according to the policies governing the Institution. This position is also responsible for representing the University and promoting its interests and development to external bodies, such as various levels of government and the wider community.

The targeted salary range for this position is $179,232 – $250,000 annually, supplemented by a competitive total rewards package.
