This is your opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping our future.Position SummaryAs the CHRO, you will lead and implement human resource and communications strategies that align with Rise Air’s vision and strategic goals. Your primary areas of focus will include change management, talent management, total compensation, employee communication and engagement, organizational and performance management, and learning and development, as well as corporate communications and stakeholder relations, and governance/administration. Reporting directly to the President and Chief Executive Officer, you will guide the building of a culture that is inclusive, embraces change, fosters innovation and celebrates individual success and teamwork.Key Responsibilities and Competencies

  • Fulfill the responsibilities of the Corporate Secretary as approved in the Board of Directors’ Governance Manual.
  • Act as a strategic advisor to senior leadership and management across all business units on key organizational and management issues.
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction, overseeing talent acquisition, career development, succession planning, retention, training, leadership development, compensation, and benefits as well as corporate communications and governance/administration.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans in alignment with the Company’s overall business plan and strategic direction of the Company.
  • Coach, mentor and provide best practice training and counsel, empowering management to effectively lead teams through connecting, motivating and inspiring a sense of ownership of shared objectives.
  • Oversee compliance with employment laws and best practices.
  • Actively manage risk and responsibly manage departmental budgets and fiscal resources.
  • Consult with legal counsel to ensure that organizational programs and policies comply with federal and regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with management to develop consistent, accurate, and clear communications. regarding human resource, communications and governance/administration functions.
  • Represent the Company in provincial, federal, and industry associations, in our communities, and build relationships with partners and stakeholders.
  • Lead initiatives that promote a safe and healthy culture, value employee contributions and position Rise Air as an employer of choice.

  • Align human resource and corporate strategies with overall business goals, ensuring that initiatives support the Company’s mission, vision, values and objectives.
  • Establish a sound plan of management succession that corresponds to the strategy and objectives of the Company.
  • Develop and implement operational and governance policies and guidelines for Human Resources and Corporate Services, including the Board of Directors.
  • Identify human resource and corporate risk factors and implement risk mitigation strategies under span of control.
  • Implement strategy for inclusivity, diversity, equity, and accessibility that meets the targets established by the Saskatchewan Human Rights Commission and the Board of Directors.
  • Develop strategies to attract and retain top talent, ensuring the organization has the right people in the right roles.
  • Design agile workforce models that enable companies to proactively anticipate talent needs, adjust in real time and leverage a variety of employment arrangements to achieve their goals and build strong pipelines for future hiring needs.
  • Design and implement training and development programs to support employee success that empower employees to grow and advance in their careers.
  • Embed the Company’s values and mission into the fabric of daily operations, reinforcing behaviors that support the strategic vision.
  • Manage employee relations, resolve conflicts, and foster a positive work environment through employee recognition and appreciation programs.
  • Oversee labour relations activities and actively lead collective bargaining negotiations and implementation of collective bargaining agreements.
  • Align roles and responsibilities with organizational objectives, creating a dynamic framework that allows talent to flourish and contribute effectively to the Company’s mission.
  • Build and enhance positive and collaborative relationships with critical stakeholders and business partners including, but not limited to, business partners, community leaders and administrators, advertising agencies, media, sponsors, and employment partners.

QualificationsTypically, this position requires a postgraduate degree in human resources or related field. The incumbent must hold or be able to obtain the Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) Saskatchewan certification.A minimum of ten (10) years’ human resource and corporate experience is required with at least five (5) more years of progressively senior human resource and corporate management and leadership experience. A combination of education and experience may be considered. Preference will be given to qualified Indigenous applicants.Our OfferRemuneration for the appointment will be negotiated with the successful candidate and will be dependent on experience, skills, and ability.
