The mission of Jesuit Refugee Service/USA (JRS/USA) is to accompany, serve, and advocate for refugees and forcibly displaced persons. JRS works in more than 50 countries worldwide to meet the educational, health, psycho-social and emergency needs of more than 1.5 million refugees and other forcibly displaced persons regardless of race, ethnic origin, or religious beliefs.
Reporting to the President, the Vice President of International Programs will play a lead role in the planning and execution of Jesuit Refugee Service/USA’s institutional operations and will be responsible for oversight of overseas programming, including institutional and private funding. The Vice President will lead JRS/USA program funding strategy and growth and manage a portfolio of U.S. government and foundation grants in order to ensure program quality and effectiveness, compliance, and continued funding. The Vice President will also coordinate with overseas colleagues to contribute to organizational learning and accountability.
The Vice President will work closely with the CFO and the Finance and Development Department to ensure that JRS/USA has the systems and procedures in place to support effective program implementation and meet donor reporting requirements. The Vice President will work closely with senior leadership and across departments to ensure that JRS/USA staff are well informed of program developments globally. They will also work closely with other Global JRS staff, including the International Office Programmes & Innovation Director, other IO management staff, and Regional Directors to provide leadership within the organization and support strategy and planning. The Vice President will represent JRS USA with donors, external partners, and with other JRS offices. The Vice President will supervise at least a team of 5 people and potentially other staff as needed.
