Department for Business and Trade roles (DBT)
The Department for Business and Trade (DBT) is the UK government agency that helps foster UK Exports and Inward Investment. DBT officers at overseas posts liaise with the UK headquarters and other departments across the British Government to generate commercial, policy and institutional collaborations in other markets.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on improving bilateral trade and investment between the United Kingdom and Brazil, especially through increasing UK exports of the Advanced Engineering, Automotive and Chemical sectors, including a number of iconic and traditional products from the UK.
You will be supporting the team with administrative and back-office help to activities related to trade promotion, market access, marketing intelligence and overseas direct investment, such as pipeline and system entries management, organisation of events, marketing and communications campaigns.
When appropriate, you will have the opportunity to participate at commercial meetings, tradeshows and external events in order to develop your professional skills and experience to enhance your future career prospects.

Employees who are not liable to pay local income tax on their Mission salary, eg some non-local national staff and some spouses or partners of UK diplomatic staff, will have their salaries abated by an equivalent amount.
Appointable candidates who were unsuccessful may be placed on a ‘reserve list’. If during the reserve period of 12 months the same or a largely similar role becomes available, that role may be offered to the second or subsequent candidate.
