The British Embassy Abu Dhabi has a vacancy for a Senior Capital Investment Specialist with Scottish Development International (SDI), job grade HEO on a fixed-term contract for one (1) year.

SDI is a joint venture between Scottish Enterprise, Highlands and Islands Enterprise, and the Scottish Government. Its purpose is to support the internationalisation of Scottish companies, to engage with and attract overseas companies to invest in and collaborate with Scotland and Scottish companies, potentially leading to foreign direct investment, and to maximise investment opportunities.
SDI is seeking to recruit a Senior Capital Investment Specialist to strengthen and develop our relationships with UAE based investors with a particular focus on attracting investment into projects within our renewable energy sectors. This is a high-profile customer-facing role, where highly developed influencing and sales skills at a senior level will result in the successful promotion of investment opportunities. You will assemble intelligence on investors and manage investor relationships to inform promotion and pipeline development activities, ultimately assisting a flow of strategically aligned capital investment for Scotland.
You will work closely with the core SDI Capital Investment team based in Scotland and with key stakeholders – both public and private.

Duties and responsibilities:
- Undertake market analysis to determine new target investors in renewable energy & the associated supply chain.
- Excellent inter-personal and communication skills with evidence of an ability to communicate, present and influence at different levels and build and maintain trusted relationships.
- Pro-actively engage with Investors to gauge and progress interest by conducting face-to-face meetings and attending networking events and conferences.
- Ability to work autonomously at pace and prioritise workflow based on strategic importance and value add of tasks.
- Interface with senior team members to develop and execute investor-specific engagement and promotion strategies.
- Stakeholder engagement: provide feedback on investor sentiment and connect Scotland-based project sponsors to investors.
- Contribute information, ideas, and research to help develop deeper investor relations engagement strategies.
- Plan and execute investment focused VIP visits when required.
- Act as an advocate for Scotland & SDI.
- Responsible for ensuring best practice, compliance with the organisations policy regarding CRM usage, analysing data, and preparing quarterly reports.
- Participate as a member of the SDI Capital Investment team with colleagues in Scotland and elsewhere.

Working hours and remuneration:
The Embassy aims to offer an attractive working environment and remuneration package for this role, which includes 25 days of leave per annum (calculated pro-rata)
Salary is at AED 24,911 per month.
There are no other allowances payable as part of this package. No accommodation and relocation expenses are payable in connection with this position.
The Embassy is open from Monday to Friday from 0700 to 1800 hrs. The Employee’s normal weekly working hours are forty (40) Monday to Friday (inclusive). This is inclusive of one-hour paid rest break for each five (5) hours worked; the timing of the rest break shall be approved by the Employee’s Line Manager and in accordance with operational requirements.
The successful candidate will be required to transfer their visa under the Embassy’s sponsorship.

The recruitment process, including security clearance, is expected to take around two – three months. The security clearance process includes checks available in country and with UK, dependant on the security level required for the role and the candidate’s profile and UK footprint.
