Community Liaison
Main purpose of job:
The British High Commission Jamaica is seeking their next Community Liaison Officer to join their team in Kingston. The successful candidate will work closely with management for the well-being of all staff at the British High Commission Jamaica. The primary function is to advocate for, and provide support to, UK-based staff and families (FCO and PAGs) on family and community issues, principally in the areas of information gathering, welfare and communication.
Roles and responsibilities:
All the above tasks require the CLO to have strong links with senior management, relevant FCO departments and the Diplomatic Service Family Association London office.

$2,830,025 JMD per annum for a full time role (35 hours net); as the role is part time, salary will be pro-rated based on number of hours worked

Employees who are not liable to pay local income tax on their Mission salary, eg some non-local national staff and some spouses or partners of UK diplomatic staff, will have their salaries abated by an equivalent amount.
Learning and development opportunities:
Access to a range of online and in person learning opportunities, including job specific training (a CLO course) and wider developmental opportunities. Most of these are delivered online.
Working patterns:
This is a part-time, fixed-tem (12 months with possibility of renewal) position that ranges between 20 – 25 hours per week (net lunch breaks), however we are willing to consider a range of working patterns, or adjustments. Exact working hours can be discussed as part of the recruitment process.

The successful candidate will be subject to a 3-month probationary period.
The appointment will also be subject to satisfactory local and UK security clearances.
