Main purpose of job: The High Commission Driver is responsible for providing a safe, efficient, and effective service to High Commission staff and official visitors when required. This includes, but is not limited to, regular vehicle maintenance, route planning and driving in accordance with Botswana’s Road Traffic Laws. The High Commission Driver is expected to be discreet, courteous, have strong customer skills and to ensure the vehicle is always clean, in good running condition and regular maintenance schedules are followed. He/She will display a willingness to help colleagues, including on tasks beyond the duties listed below, in accordance with the High Commission’s policy on team working. He/She will aim to always provide a first-class service. |

- Employees recruited locally by the British High Commission in Gaborone are subject to the Terms and Conditions of Service according to local employment law in Botswana.
- All applicants must be able to live in Botswana (i.e. already have a residence permit)
- Employees who are not liable to pay local income tax on their Mission salary may have their salaries reduced by the equivalent local income tax amount.
