Driver / Messenger
The Corporate Services team at the British Embassy in Sofia is looking to recruit a full time Driver/Clerical Assistant to join the team as soon as possible. The Corporate Services department is at the core of the British Embassy’s operations and the Driver is a key member of the team.
The successful candidate will be expected to provide safe and timely transport services to all passengers, in official vehicles to and from scheduled appointments, and also during Ministerial visits, trips to the countryside and abroad.
As Driver the job holder will deal with delivery of documents, letters, invitations and packages to/from various organisations and partners. They will make sure that diplomatic mail is sent, received and distributed in an efficient and timely manner. As Clerical Assistant, the jobholder will support the Corporate Services team with purchases, deliveries, logistics around Embassy events and other ad hoc tasks. The successful candidate will be reporting to the Head of the Ambassador’s Office. Why you should apply:

This a full-time and permanent position. The successful candidate will receive a monthly salary of BGN 1981.82 (gross), (non-negotiable, payable 13 times per year). The job holder may be required to work out of hours, on weekends and public holidays as necessary. We pay an allowance for on-call and out-of-hours duties.

Due to the nature of the role, this position has no possibility for working from home.
Core skills training and mandatory trainings will be provided by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office. All staff have a personal development plan and access to world class learning and development opportunities.
The successful candidate will be subject to confirmation of a background and security clearance.
