The Finance and HR Administrative Officer provides a wide range of Finance services to Country Based Staff across the Canada Network. The Canada Network comprises of the British High Commission in Ottawa and Consulate Generals in Toronto, Montreal, Calgary, and Vancouver.
The Finance and HR Administrative Officer is responsible for processing and monitoring Accounts Payables including the processing of invoices for payment, monitoring of payments and problem-solving issues with suppliers.
The Finance and HR Administrative Officer maintains the Accounts Receivables including deposits and monthly reconciliation
The Finance and HR Administrative Officer manages the employee Defined Contribution pension, enrolments, contribution files, terminations with our pension provider and provides problem solving and communications with staff.
The Finance and HR Administrative Officer collects and summarises bi-monthly payroll to our Washington Hub which includes tracking changes to payroll, both temporary and permanent.
The Finance and HR Administrative Officer will be involved in communication to staff on issues including pension and payroll changes.
The Finance and HR Administrative Officer demonstrates workplace professionalism, honesty, integrity, effective behaviours, and a positive attitude.
Roles and responsibilities:
- Split between Finance (75%) and HR (25%)
- To exercise greater judgement and discretion in the application of rules, procedures and policies to payroll, budget forecasting, country-based-staff Defined Contribution Pension Plan monthly consultations, accounts payable and receivable, budget management for payroll, healthcare, and Legal costs.
- To manage the APOttawa invoice mailbox from external companies.
- To manage Accounts receivables
- To administer the company Defined Contribution pension plan
- To assist in the processing of bi-monthly payroll to staff with the Washington Hub
- To communicate and problem solve changes in the above to staff
- To demonstrate workplace professionalism, honesty, integrity, effective behaviours, and a positive attitude.
- To offer resilience and support to the HR Network Manager.
