The British Embassy Prague is part of a worldwide network representing British interests overseas while maintaining the relationship between the UK and the Czech Republic.
Main purpose of the job:
The British Embassy Prague is now offering an internship opportunity for a highly motivated university student who will join the award-winning Press & Public Affairs team for six months and work with the team to build an even better public image for the Embassy and the Ambassador Matt Field. The Press & Public Affairs team is a crucial team at the Embassy that works directly with the Ambassador, and provides support for the whole Embassy.

Roles and responsibilities:
- Assisting with creating engaging and relevant content for the Embassy’s social media (X/Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram).
- Assisting with media interviews, events, and conferences.
- Assisting the PPA team with various public diplomacy projects and PR campaigns.
- Assisting with arranging photo/video opportunities, event management, stakeholder mapping and research.

Our ideal Candidate shows:
- Fluency in English and Czech (both oral and written, minimum C1 level*);
- Previous experience of using social media, videography and photography;
- Previous experience organising events and/or conferences;
- Creative mindset and a can-do attitude;
- Interest in media and communications work;
- Willingness to learn.

Nice to have:
- Basic knowledge of graphic design and video editing software such as Canva, CapCut etc.
- Undergoing a university degree in marketing/communications/PR/international relations or similar.

We offer internship position for 6 months and paid on an hourly basis, 127 CZK (per hour).
Working hours are Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 17:00 with a flexible working hours arrangement.
The successful candidate will be subject to professional background check, security clearance and 3 months probationary period.
The successful candidate must have pre-existing work authorisation for the Czech Republic in order to apply.
Staff recruited locally by the British Embassy in Czech Republic are subject to Terms and Conditions of Service according to local Czech Republic employment law.
Visa/work permit requirements: Candidates must currently hold the independent right to live and work in Czech Republic and be prepared to ensure that right remains throughout the scope of the contract.
Please note that it is your responsibility to ensure you meet the legal requirements to live and work in this country.
