The British Embassy in Copenhagen is recruiting a self-driven, creative and delivery-focused individual with public diplomacy and/or communications experience to deliver the Embassy’s public diplomacy work, a key priority for the UK Ambassador to the Kingdom of Denmark. The British Embassy Copenhagen is part of a world-wide network representing UK’s political, economic and consular interests overseas. Why should you apply? You will join the Political Team as Public Diplomacy Officer leading on a high-priority area of the Embassy’s outreach and external engagement. The Political Section covers Foreign, Security and Climate Policy as well as Public Diplomacy. You will be part of a high performing team that enjoys a strong reputation for the quality of its communications, events, reporting, analysis and influencing. You will work directly to the Ambassador and Head of the Communications, Public Diplomacy and Climate Team to organise and deliver a variety set-piece events and coordinate content for digital platforms and campaigns. You will play a central role in strengthening the Embassy’s influence to the Danish government, public and wider civil society to promote the close and long-standing relationship between the UK and Denmark. You will deliver across a variety of public diplomacy themes, based on:
We are looking for an individual that is experienced in public diplomacy and/or communications who can hit the ground running on arrival; is confident setting direction and demonstrating leadership; has strong collaboration skills and can work effectively as part of a team; and is confident working with senior colleagues internally and a range of contacts externally. - This is a full time, permanent contract subject to a 3-month probation period;
- 35-hours working week with a focus on work-life balance, this role is primarily office-based. Flexible working of 1-2 days from home may be possible, subject to line manager agreement.
