Who we are:
The British Embassy in Kazakhstan is part of a world-wide network, representing British political, economic, trade, and consular interests overseas, and is now looking for a Receptionist / Logistics Manager.
Main purpose of job: The jobholder will provide operational and administrative support to the British Embassy office. |
Roles and responsibilities: 1. Embassy fleet management: a. Liaison with the MFA on official and diplomats’ vehicles registration/de-registration including other legal mandatory procedures, b. Transport bookings system coordination, annual cars insurance handling, Line-managing Embassy drivers, mileage and fuel records monitoring; c. Winter bus service (emails, Winter bus Declaration distribution); 2. Administrative Support: a. Receiving and processing Embassy visitors, b. Registration, sending outward mail and diplomatic bags via official contractor, c. Receiving and dispatching incoming mail across Embassy sections, d. Telephone exchange, e. Stationery and cleaning materials stocks handling, f. Order of business cards, g. Translations upon request; 3. Financial Assistance: a. Hera requisitioning and receiving under close cooperation with Financial Hub and CSM supervision, b. Support to Accounts section on invoice control, cover for the Accountant in specific responsibilities, c. Receipting goods and services. |

- Fluency in English and Russian, both written and spoken (minimum of C1 CEFR framework level language*);

This is a full-time, fixed term contract of 12 months, with possibility of renewable, subject to a 3 month probation period.
Salary will be 1,205 USD per calendar month (gross). Please note that it is the employee’s responsibility to pay individual income tax.
The start date mentioned in the advert is just an expected start date. The appointment can start earlier or later depending on several factors. Flexible working may be accommodated on request.
Employees are entitled to annual leave entitlement pro-rata based on 25 days total per calendar year. In addition, the Embassy observes up to 14 days public holidays marking different Kazakh and UK holidays.

The successful candidate will be subject to confirmation of a professional background check and security clearance and is expected to commence employment as soon as possible. The successful candidate must have pre-existing work authorisation for the Kazakhstan in order to apply. All applicants should have the right to live and work in Kazakhstan.
