Department for Business and Trade roles (DBT)
Department for Business and Trade (DBT)
Who are we? |
This is a unique opportunity for an individual to join the Department for Business and Trade (DBT) Ukraine team. The Department for Business and Trade (DBT) has overall responsibility for promoting UK trade across the world and attracting foreign direct investment to the UK. We are a specialised international economic government department with responsibility for negotiating international trade policy, supporting business, and delivering an outward-looking trade diplomacy strategy. DBT Ukraine at British Embassy Kyiv is part of a world-wide network representing British political, economic and consular interests overseas. Working closely with businesses across the UK and Ukraine, you will play a key role in delivering a quality service to a range of businesses looking to export to or invest in Ukraine in the defence and security sector. |
Main purpose of job:
You will be working with colleagues in the UK – as well as a broad range of Departments and agencies within the Government of Ukraine – to grow UK business interest in this sector, and to continue to demonstrate the UK’s support to Ukraine. You will be responsible for supporting large, set-piece events scheduled throughout the year in Ukraine, with the aim of facilitating business-to-business interaction in the defence and security equipment sector. Your role will include logistics planning and delivery, event management, liaison with the Government of Ukraine, and other administrative duties to be determined by the demands of specific events. This will be a busy and rewarding role; there is huge business and government interest in defence and security industrial cooperation between the UK and Ukraine. You will play a direct role in supporting and deepening that cooperation, by facilitating better understanding of Government of Ukraine requirements in the security sector, and by facilitating strong and resilient businesses relationships between British and Ukrainian businesses.
