Climate Diplomacy
Main purpose of job:
The British Embassy Hanoi (BEH) is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Climate Team Coordinator to support the Embassy’s portfolio of climate, energy and nature policy and programmes in Vietnam.
You should be a dynamic and quick-learning individual with experience working in a multicultural environment.
You should know how to prioritise tasks, quickly adapt to new and changing project settings, and collaborate well with others.
The successful candidate will have the exciting opportunity to support UK-Vietnam collaboration on climate change, energy transition and nature priorities to support Vietnam’s net zero climate ambition.
The successful candidate will work within BEH’s climate team, which oversees the UK’s climate and nature engagement with Vietnam across the following priorities:
The job holder is expected to provide dedicated communications support on the team’s climate priorities, alongside corporate administrative including team’s budget support. They will provide strong stakeholder communication, alongside attention to detail to ensure high quality budget management and reporting.
The successful candidate will work within BEH’s Climate Team, which leads on the Vietnam Just Energy Transition Partnership, broader energy transition policy and diplomacy, climate mitigation, adaptation and climate finance policy. The team also supports a number of UK-funded climate programmes.
It is critical that the post-holder demonstrates strong communications, administration, finance and budgeting, and stakeholder management skills. As part of this role, you will lead on the climate team’s internal and external communications coordination, and team financial and logistical management (with support from senior members). You will need to have excellent communication and collaboration skills and maintain good working relationships with colleagues within UK in Vietnam Network (UKIV), and a range of stakeholders within the UK and Vietnam governments, wider development partners and international stakeholders.

This vacancy is advertised as a full-time, fixed term role of 12 months with possibility of renewal.

Working patterns:
Full time – 39.5 hours per week with one hour lunch. Mon-Thursday 08:30–16:45, Friday 08:30–15:00

In crisis/emergency situations you may need to work as required to support the Embassy response, sometimes on a shift pattern working which may result in unsociable hours and/or weekend working.
