Job description

We are looking to recruit suitably qualified academic HE professionals as Visiting Lecturers on a casual, hourly-paid basis to deliver Academic Skills workshops across all levels of the university. There will also be the opportunity to teach on our Foundation Year module entitled Academic Skills and Studying with Confidence. Duties include adapting and delivering pre-prepared workshops, liaising with tutors and preparing and developing materials. On the Foundation Year module, duties include formal scheduled teaching, student assessment and the marking of students’ work, liaising with tutors and supporting student’s academic development. Previous academic skills teaching experience, particularly within Higher Education, is essential.The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, innovative and versatile in their approach, demonstrating excellent communication skills and the ability to establish strong working relationships with students and staff, as well as a keen understanding of the needs of students, especially those from widening participation backgrounds.This advert will close as soon as we receive a suitable number of applications.
