The Product & Experience Design Team (PXD) makes our partners stand out by designing innovative products and best-in-class experiences that give them a powerful competitive advantage in the marketplace.This Sr. Designer – VCA Product & Experience Design will join an emerging Design advisory team alongside senior designers based in London and Berlin with the purpose of helping grow our clients’ businesses all across Europe through a consultative approach to experience and product design.This individual is a strategic, full-stack experience designer with hands-on human centered design thinking, UX/UI, research, prototyping, facilitation, and strong client-facing skills. They will be working alongside payment consultants to deliver high quality advisory to clients such as banks, Fintechs, merchants and acquirers. Their role within the consultancy team is understanding the user needs alongside the business and technology context to create and improve digital products and experiences. Their projects will include tasks related to accessing, improving and redesigning usability, accessibility, and driving engagement with digital products and services. In this role this designer will develop a nuanced understanding of emerging digital payment trends as well as Visa’s capabilities and services to effectively leverage the right products and services at the right time.ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with cross-functional teams( Consultancy, Product, Design and other functions) in the development of new products & experiences using a digital-first mindset and contemporary design techniques of digital native companies (e.g., minimum viable product, rapid development, A/B testing and iteration)Identify user needs and translate business goal into recommendations for product and/or serviceRapidly convert ideas into detailed storyboards, mockups, and working prototypes, meshing-together solutions/capabilities that exist within Visa or externally.Take part in the planning and execution workshops with Visa consultants and clients. Then synthesize insights into defensible visions, frameworks, and concepts using human-centered designUnderstand Visa’s business model, ecosystem, and end users to effectively “connect the dots” between business and design.Develop a nuanced understanding of Visa’s capabilities and be able to apply them to clients’ business problems to actively engage with clients and co-develop meaningful solutions to address their challenges.Work collaboratively with internal and external partner teams to ensure alignment on goals, scope, and transparent communication.Energize and improve the status quo using creativity and intelligent calculated risks to deliver new products and processes that surpass clients’ expectations, demonstrating new methods, capabilities, and mindsets.Conduct and/or support in-depth customer testing using various qualitative and quantitative research methods.Design SkillsProficient in rapid prototyping methods, with a deep understanding of visual design and data visualization.Ability to collaborate with clients to comprehend requirements, design user experiences, and meet deadlines.Capable of communicating design ideas using various techniques and creating optimized wireframes, user journeys, and mock-ups.Follows a user-centric design approach and is able to present, defend, and receive feedback on designs.Strong visual design and interaction design skills, fuelled by a passion for high-quality fit and finish.Practices evidence-based design and can articulate design decisions clearly and convincingly. Additional experience in video editing, motion graphics, animation design, and prototyping software is a plus.Behavioral SkillsThis designer is creative, curious, and hands-on, has a bias toward action and inspires others with their vision. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.QualificationsBasic Qualifications:

  • 2 to 5 years of work experience in design with a portfolio of well-crafted, impactful work that solves real problems for real people with a Bachelor’s Degree or an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD, or PhD)
  • Strong fluency in digital design software including Figma, FigJam, and Adobe products
  • Knowledgeable in human centered design thinking, UX/UI principles, service design, and user research
  • Experience in creating user experience maps, service blueprints, wireframes, polished user interface design, rapid prototyping, and presentations that communicate strategy

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4+ years working as a product or digital designer as part of an in-house, agency, or cross-functional design or innovation team
  • Experience working in design consultancies, digital product teams, or established startups which gives you a sense of how to interact with clients and collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Experience working in Payments and Finance industry is a plus
