Volunteer Coordinator (Remote)

Location: Home-based
Commitment: Up to 5 hours per week (flexible)
Duration: Minimum 24 weeks
Age: 21+

We are seeking a passionate and organised individual to take on the role of Volunteer Coordinator for our charity partner in Greece, supporting the recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing management of volunteers. This is a voluntary, home-based position offering the flexibility to work around your personal commitments, with an estimated commitment of up to 5 hours per week. The role will involve close collaboration with our Athens team and Board of Trustees to ensure our volunteer efforts align with the charity’s goals in providing crucial support to refugees in Athens.

As the Volunteer Coordinator, you will be the first point of contact for potential and current volunteers, guiding them through the application process, helping them integrate into our work, and providing ongoing support to ensure their experience is fulfilling and effective. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with excellent people skills who is eager to contribute to a meaningful cause and gain hands-on experience in a small, impactful charity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the recruitment and onboarding of new volunteers, ensuring a smooth and engaging experience.
  • Provide ongoing support to volunteers, answering their questions and addressing any concerns.
  • Assist in managing volunteer schedules and ensuring roles are appropriately filled.
  • Act as a liaison between volunteers and the Athens team, ensuring clear communication and coordination.
  • Maintain volunteer records and track volunteer hours and activities.
  • Support the development and improvement of volunteer coordination processes.
  • Attend regular check-ins with the Athens team and Board of Trustees to provide updates and discuss volunteer-related needs.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Highly organised and proactive individual with strong time-management skills.
  • English proficiency requirement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to build relationships and engage with volunteers remotely.
  • Motivated, self-directed, and comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Passion for the charity’s mission and working towards social justice and refugee support.
  • Previous volunteer or coordination experience is a plus but not essential.
  • A minimum commitment of 24 weeks is required for continuity in volunteer support.

Why Join Us?

  • Play a key role in supporting a small but impactful charity that makes a real difference for refugees in Athens.
  • Gain valuable experience in volunteer management, recruitment, and coordination.
  • Work remotely and flexibly while contributing to a meaningful cause.
  • Be part of a supportive, dynamic team that values collaboration and community.
