Position Overview
The Volunteer Engagement Manager will be responsible for leading and expanding CRY America’s national volunteer programs, ensuring robust volunteer retention and acquisition, and driving the success of key volunteer-led fundraising events. You will support volunteer leaders, foster community engagement, and represent CRY America at events across the U.S. This position requires a dynamic, organized, and results-driven individual with a passion for child rights and working with large groups of individuals. The position is remote and travel is required as needed for volunteer meetings and for local, regional and national events and activities.
Key Responsibilities

Volunteer Retention: Ensure stable and active volunteer chapters by supporting volunteer leaders, ensuring motivation and appreciation programs, and providing resources like materials, social media, website support, and media outreach.

Volunteer Acquisition: Grow the volunteer base and number of chapters through proactive promotions, targeted recruitment, and a seamless onboarding process.

Revenue Growth: Lead national volunteer-driven event series like CRY Walk, CRY Holi, CRY Cricket and CRY Dandia to ensure successful fundraising efforts across volunteer chapters.

Community Engagement: Represent CRY America at key community events in relevant cities to build visibility and strengthen volunteer engagement, including speaking opportunities.

Leadership Development: Mentor and provide guidance to volunteer leaders and core groups, offering tools and strategies to enhance their effectiveness, including maintenance of volunteer databases nationally
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree.

3 plus years of relevant experience, ideally in volunteer management, community engagement, or nonprofit event management preferred.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and social media platforms, with strong written and verbal communication skills.

Must be authorized to work in the United States.
Qualities

Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and remotely while managing multiple priorities.

Experience working and networking with large groups of volunteers, primarily in the 18-35 age range, and a passion for building and nurturing community networks.

Willingness to work on evenings and weekends and travel within the U.S. as required (ability to drive long distances and fly as needed).

A deep commitment to the mission of improving the lives of underprivileged children, especially in India.

Strong interpersonal skills: attentive listening and observation, transparency, emotional intelligence, collaboration, and clear communication.

Passion for relationship building and joy in representing the organization in external settings.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary Range: $48,000+ per annum, based on qualifications and experience.

Health Insurance: Up to a maximum of $6,000 annually.

Vacation: 15 days PTO and 5 sick days for 12 months worked.
