individuals who share our dedication.

We are now looking for a Wales Officer to join our team on a part-time basis for a 2.5 year
fixed term contract, working 15 hours per week. There may be a requirement for occasional
weekend and evening work.

The Role

As our Wales Officer, you will support and enhance our network of voluntary Bat Groups in
Wales.

Engaging with our Bat Groups in Wales and Natural Resources Wales (NRW) to further our bat
conservation goals, you’ll encourage people to appreciate bats as a vital part of their natural
heritage and raise awareness of conservation needs.

You’ll support the development of the Bat Group Network through partnership arrangements,
delivering effective communication between the Groups and key stakeholders.

Additionally, you will:

  • Organise and attend an annual event for Bat Workers
  • Support the development of budgets and reports for funders and trustees
  • Co-ordinate the production and distribution of support materials and resources
  • Implement guidance and polices around safeguarding and health and safety

About You

To be considered as a Wales Officer, you will need:

  • Experience of working with volunteers and identifying volunteer needs
  • Practical bat work experience
  • Experience of event organising
  • Experience of regular reporting within an organisation and externally e.g., to funders
  • Experience of engaging new groups and building partnerships
  • A good understanding of bat ecology and conservation
  • A practical understanding of bat licensing in Wales
