We have an exciting opportunity for a Waste Prevention Officer to join our passionate, friendly
and successful team. You will help shape and deliver the Waste Prevention programme for East
London Waste Authority (ELWA), working alongside our four Constituent Councils and a number of
other partners.
The role will have a significant focus on engagement with residents, working alongside the rest
of the team to deliver events, run communications campaigns, and develop projects to help local
communities reduce waste and reuse/repair more products.
You will be required to work on a number of weekends and evenings to manage Repair Cafés and
other events.
The role is on a fixed-term basis to March 2026, partially covering for a period of maternity
leave but also adding more capacity to support the delivery of the Waste Prevention Programme.
Depending on funding, there may be scope for the role to be extended.
For a confidential discussion about this exciting role, please contact
Jon Hastings, Head of Strategy and Development (07773 817 220).
