Temporary contract up to 12 months
Salary Grade 5 £31,537 rising to £34,434

Are you an enthusiastic communicator with a passion for sustainability and community engagement? Our Environmental Services are looking for a Waste & Recycling Engagement Advisor to help promote positive recycling behaviours across the district.

You will work directly with residents, community groups and frontline staff to encourage waste reduction and improve recycling performance. Supporting the delivery of campaigns and projects, you will help create engaging content, deliver presentations, and provide practical advice to ensure residents understand and use our recycling services correctly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Community Engagement: Carry out door to door visits, attend community events, and provide practical recycling advice to residents.
  • Project Support: Assist in planning, coordinating and delivering recycling projects and behaviour change campaigns.
  • Content Creation: Contribute to social media content, campaign messaging, and respond to resident enquiries online.
  • Communications Materials: Support the development of leaflets, guides, presentations and toolkits to promote recycling services.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with frontline staff to gather feedback, identify issues and ensure consistent messaging.
  • Monitoring & Evaluation: Collect insights from engagement activities and support the evaluation of campaign effectiveness.

The role involves travel across the district, community visits and outdoor working. A valid UK driving licence is required, and flexibility to attend occasional evening or weekend events may be necessary.
