We’re looking for an enthusiastic and proactive team member to help drive the effective management of our water abstraction returns system.
In this role, you’ll work closely with colleagues from across NRW and engage directly with external customers, so confident and clear communication in both English and Welsh is essential.
You’ll thrive in a fast-paced environment, bringing strong organisational skills and the ability to work accurately under pressure. Experience in water resources or data management would be a real advantage, and proficiency with tools such as Microsoft Excel and Power BI will help you hit the ground running.
As an organisation we support flexible working. You will be contracted to the nearest NRW office to your home and a suitable hybrid working pattern will be agreed on appointment. Any regular face to face meetings or training will be planned in advance.
To make an informal enquiry about this role, please contact Kim Redman at [email protected]
Interviews will take place through Microsoft Teams.
Successful applicants will be subject to a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service Check (DBS) check. Appointments are normally made within 4 to 8 weeks of the closing date.
You’ll be part of a diverse and experienced Water Resources Regulatory Approaches team, that sits within NRW’s Evidence, Policy and Permitting Directorate.
Our Team’s remit includes the development and delivery of internal operational guidance and training resources. The Team also manages the Water Resources Return Service, which records abstraction data to support compliance.
In your application and interview you will be asked to demonstrate the following skills and experience using the STAR method.

We want our staff to grow professionally and personally. From leadership development to access to further and higher education courses, our staff have opportunities to expand their knowledge on variety of topics, stay current in their field and continue to learn as their career progresses.
