The Role

We seek an experienced WhatsApp Deliverability Consultant to join our innovative AvaazLite team. This role focuses on optimizing our WhatsApp delivery systems, ensuring reliable and efficient communication with our members, and expanding our reach. You will oversee all aspects of WhatsApp deliverability, from strategy development to execution, and ensure compliance with relevant policies and regulations. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, highly technical, and experienced in managing large-scale messaging systems.

This role will involve working closely with campaigners, technical teams, and external partners to ensure seamless execution of WhatsApp campaigns. You will monitor campaign performance, troubleshoot deliverability issues, and continuously optimize our approach to maintain high delivery rates and engagement levels. Additionally, you will contribute to the strategic development of new deliverability solutions and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

Develop Deliverability Strategies:

• Develop WhatsApp deliverability guidelines for preventing crises, addressing them when they happen, and investigating and resolving them.
• Establish and maintain a direct channel with WhatsApp and Meta.
• Determine the segmentation strategy, sequencing, and dynamic content for all WhatsApp communications.
• Develop a WhatsApp deliverability technical infrastructure.
• Implement multiple number blasting strategies to spread risk and better identify problems.

Campaign Management:

• Monitor campaign delivery, troubleshoot issues, and ensure timely delivery of WhatsApp messages.
• Deliver monthly reports with analysis of the performance of campaigns/flows along with strategic recommendations for continual improvement.
• Conduct manual system testing, checking, and scanning of content, plus follow recommendations re. best practices and WhatsApp methods.
• Prepare presentations that document key learnings from test results.
• Conduct monthly meetings with stakeholders on “Lessons Learned” from each campaign, including successes and challenges, and use these to develop better campaigns in the future.

Technical Oversight:

• Knowledge of various platforms (e.g., Twilio, Bird) and management of WhatsApp Business Accounts.
• Proactively investigate and manage issues affecting deliverability.
• Create and deliver reports to demonstrate factors affecting deliverability and reputation.
• Develop materials to promote the team, including presentation materials and case studies highlighting the challenges faced and the creativity, technology, and methods used to overcome them.
  

Skills and Competencies

• Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of WhatsApp Business API, sender ID, long code, short code, and branded URL. Familiarity with platforms like Twilio and Bird.
• Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze deliverability data and derive actionable insights. Proficiency in using analytics tools to measure and optimize deliverability performance.
• Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills: diagnosis, root-cause assessment, option evaluation, and resolution.
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to convey technical information clearly and concisely.
• Project Management: Experience in cross-functional collaboration and project management. Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and assignments simultaneously under strict deadlines.
• Customer Focus: Track record of successful consulting with clients. Ability to work effectively in a team environment, work independently, and travel infrequently.
• Creativity: Innovative and creative mindset with the ability to develop engaging and impactful deliverability strategies.
• Bonus: Familiarity with email deliverability operations and experience with digital marketing.

Location

Avaaz is a virtual organization, with most of our work done over email, Gdocs, telephone, and Slack. Our staff are based in cities all over the world. For this position, the candidate needs to be based in either the EMEA region or the eastern time zones of the Americas (North or South).

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly rate for this position is US$80-100 per hour, depending on location and experience. This is a month to month contract.
