Wilder Delivery Assistant

Do you thrive being outdoors, working on practical habitat management? Could you excel
working with a highly motivated team maintaining a range of habitat types such as woodland,
meadow, hedgerow, ponds and wetlands? Our Wilder Delivery Assistant role could be perfect for
you.

We’re passionate about rewilding and nature’s recovery and we’re looking for somebody who
shares our vision to help us make it happen.

You’ll support in the delivery of practical land management contracts across a range of sites
including our own estate and land owned by others to support our goal of 33% of Derbyshire
managed for nature by 2030.

To be successful you’ll own the practical skills and knowledge to deliver projects to a high
standard, you’ll be passionate about the environment and nature’s recovery, and you’ll possess
the motivation to learn and develop in your role.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Support the Wilder Delivery Officer in delivering practical contracts on site
  • Work outdoors in diverse environments, using a range of equipment and machinery to complete
    a range of practical land management and maintenance tasks.
  • Act as an ambassador for the Trust demonstrating a high level of professionalism through
    positive interactions with a variety of stakeholders including members of the public
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety policies and procedures.

About you

This role might be right for you if:

  • Have previous experience working in outdoor environments and carrying out practical land
    and estate management works.
  • You are passionate about rewilding and are committed to delivering more space for nature;
  • Are able to carry out strenuous work on difficult terrain.
  • You wish to work according to the values of DWT.
  • You are able to work both independently and as part of a team.

We are happy to talk flexible working!

This role will be based at our office in Middleton however due to the nature of the job you
will also be working on a range of sites across Derbyshire. A balance of home and office
working will be allowed. We are a local charity so applicants should be easily able to access
our office and other locations around the county.

The role is advertised as full time 37 hours per week but we would be willing to discuss part
time working with a minimum of 30 hours per week for the right candidate.
