Women and Girls Education Financing Intern in London, United Kingdom

As an Education Financing for Women and Girls Intern, you will be part of the Education Technical Assistance Facility (ETAF) team and be responsible for supporting the team in developing loan products focused on supporting school improvement and education financing with a specific emphasis on women and girls across selected financial institutions in Asia or Africa. You will also support the ETAF team in conducting desk research to better understand women’s education financing needs in these regions. This is an unpaid internship based in London.

RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

  • Assist in developing school improvement loan products targeted at women for selected financial institutions.

  • Create and refine tools and resources to support financial institutions in implementing these loan products.

  • Conduct secondary research to identify and address women’s needs in education financing.

  • Support ongoing project management and coordination to ensure smooth execution of initiatives

    QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be based in London.

  • Must be enrolled in a credited college graduate or undergraduate program.

  • Must be seeking a degree in a field relevant to international development, development economics/finance, gender studies or similar disciplines.

  • Passionate about Opportunity’s mission. Able to promote and communicate the organization’s goals and objectives to external and internal stakeholders.

    CAPSTONE PROJECT

Designing and Implementing Loan Products for Women and Girls – The capstone project will focus on creating and launching a loan product(s) aimed at supporting school improvement and/or vocational education financing for women and girls. The intern will be involved in designing the product, creating necessary resources, and analysing key learnings from its implementation, identifying challenges and solutions to improve future efforts.
