We are inspired by and associated with World Resources Institute (WRI), a global research organization. Currently over 250 researchers are working with WRI India in our offices at Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru.
About your role:
We have a growing portfolio of software products targeting the impact ecosystem. Some of our products include Restoration Atlas – for landscape restoration and forest protection; Energy Access Explorer – mapping platform that supports inclusive approaches to achieving energy access, India Water Tool – online tool for companies and other users to understand their water-related risks and prioritize actions toward sustainable water management.
As a Product Management Leader, you’ll leverage your deep expertise in technology product management and your business/domain expertise to define and manage technology product portfolio. You will also shape the long-term vision and strategy of WRI India in this space and consult teams working with partners on technology product related matters.
Your responsibilities will cover defining and managing entire product portfolio, including identifying products for development, developing product strategy, and translating ideas and vision into concrete product proposals٫ driving product definition/design/development, taking the product to market, and working with partners/stakeholders (both internal and external).
How your day will unfold:
As Director – Products Technology, you will be a part of our core senior leadership team and will be responsible for defining and managing WRI India’s internal and client-facing software products. At WRI India, we believe in outcome-orientation in everything we do. Our quality in delivery and impact focus stand out in the ecosystem, and Product Managers must strive to embody that in their role.
The Product Director will own the product, ensure its delivery, and drive adoption. To this end, the key responsibilities include:
● Collaborate with internal teams and key client stakeholders towards developing and implementing product vision, roadmap and strategy.
● Manage and deliver user research and market research to sharpen problem space understanding and refine the product vision.
● Work with UX design partners to translate product vision and use-cases into UI/UX prototypes and designs.
● Define product features, use cases and work with our engineering partner team to plan and deliver product features.
● Evaluate 3rd-party or Open-Source software and build evidence for a Build vs Buy decision.
● Bring in best practices in agile product management to deliver towards the product roadmap.
● Define metrics and implement tracking these metrics to channel feedback towards product evolution.
● Work with the Marketing team to create product-specific messaging and artifacts for online and offline channels
● Meet regularly with external and internal customers/users to collect and analyze user feedback.
Qualifications and Requirements we seek:

We are looking for passionate individuals who align with our vision and have a keen interest in the social impact space. Some of the key skill and experience requirements are:
● 15-20+ years of professional experience across business and / or social domains
● 8+ years of software product management experience, having led at least 1 product / platform (B2B/B2C) end-to-end
● Experience of working and leading in a team environment and with various dispersed external stakeholders
● Exceptional problem-solving, product thinking, technology and product management skills
● Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively
● Strong client engagement skills – Experience of having worked with top leadership, led engagements end to end
● Humility, willingness to listen and learn
About your role:
· Experience in development, environment and non-profit sectors is preferred.
· Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills.
· Outstanding interpersonal skills
· Excellent communication skills – both written and oral.
· Attention to detail.
· Demonstrated experience in working on multiple projects.
· Demonstrated experience in working with the team and independently.
Salary and Benefits: 50,00,000 to 62,00,000 INR CTC Per Annum
Salary shall be commensurate with experience and skills. WRI offers a generous and comprehensive benefits package.
Duration: 2 years as term hire (extendable based on performance and project requirements)
Location: New Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, India
Start date: As soon as possible
