Campus: St. George (Downtown Toronto)Description:Course No. and Title:Writing Instructor: Health Sciences Writing Centre (HSWC)Course Enrollment:N/AEstimated Number of Hours:300 hoursDuties:To provide individual writing instruction to students in all programs within the Faculty of Kinesiology & Physical Education, Nursing, and the Dalla Lana School of Public Health. In addition, writing instruction is to be provided to undergraduate and graduate students in the other Health Sciences faculties: Pharmacy, and Social Work. Instruction will address disciplinary writing conventions in the health sciences, with a focus on organization, reasoning, style, language use, and academic integrity. Writing Instructors are also expected to engage in teaching writing workshops, liaise with faculty on assignment expectations and contribute to professional development within the Writing Centre.Qualification:Completed graduate degree from a post-secondary institution. Candidates should possess demonstrated skills for teaching academic writing across a variety of health sciences disciplines. Previous experience teaching writing to university students is essential. Experience in health sciences or social science writing instruction at the university level is preferred.Dates of AppointmentSeptember 1, 2024 – July 31, 2025The following rates of pay are applicable:
